Platform Revenue Cycle Manager – Retina Specialty

The Opportunity

A large, growing national specialty healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Platform Revenue Cycle Manager to lead strategic revenue cycle initiatives across a multi-site retina practice network.

This is a highly visible individual-contributor leadership role working closely with senior Revenue Cycle leadership and cross-functional teams throughout the organization. The position will play an important role in revenue cycle optimization, practice integrations, new therapeutic launches, payer and reimbursement initiatives, technology implementations, and enterprise-wide process improvement.

Current, hands-on knowledge of retina-specific revenue cycle operations is essential for this position. The successful candidate will understand the complexities of retinal therapies and injections, reimbursement, payer requirements, and the evolving drug environment within retina practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic revenue cycle initiatives across a large, multi-site retina organization from planning through implementation.
  • Support revenue cycle workstreams associated with new practice integrations, including operational readiness and workflow standardization.
  • Lead revenue cycle planning and implementation related to new retinal therapeutics, injectable drugs, payer changes, reimbursement programs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve revenue cycle performance through standardization, automation, process improvement, and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain revenue cycle policies, procedures, and standardized operating processes.
  • Analyze operational and financial performance metrics to identify trends, risks, reimbursement issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with Practice Operations, Compliance, Clinical Operations, IT, Finance, Data Analytics, and outside vendors on cross-functional initiatives.
  • Support technology implementations, system enhancements, and revenue cycle workflow optimization.
  • Develop communications, educational materials, and training programs supporting revenue cycle initiatives.
  • Monitor project performance and communicate status, risks, outcomes, and recommendations to leadership.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert regarding retina revenue cycle operations, retinal drug reimbursement, and payer trends.
  • Help drive continuous improvement, accountability, consistency, and operational excellence across the organization.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive physician revenue cycle experience, including leadership of significant projects, programs, or operational initiatives.
  • Direct revenue cycle experience within retina practices is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of retina-specific billing and reimbursement, retinal injections, current drug therapies, payer requirements, and related revenue cycle challenges.
  • Comprehensive understanding of physician revenue cycle operations, including scheduling, eligibility, authorizations, coding, billing, payment posting, denials, appeals, and accounts receivable.
  • Experience leading complex operational, implementation, or process-improvement initiatives across multiple locations or business units.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret revenue cycle and financial performance data.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence stakeholders across an organization without direct reporting authority.
  • Excellent project management, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience working with practice management systems, EHR platforms, reporting systems, and revenue cycle analytics tools.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel approximately quarterly for organizational meetings and strategic initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting revenue cycle operations within a large, multi-site or enterprise healthcare organization.
  • Experience with platforms such as NextGen, Nextech, Tableau, Viewgol, Aptarro, or similar healthcare technology and analytics systems.

Position Structure

This is a remote individual-contributor leadership position with no current direct reports. Candidates may be located throughout the United States, excluding the Pacific Time Zone, and should be comfortable traveling approximately quarterly.
